Here's the the most dietetic and flavoured receipe for stuffed peppers with meat. Without rice and with few fats, it's truly delicious and has an incredible flavour of mint and thyme.
A very healthy dish which can satisfy your appetite for traditional cuisine without adding any extra kilos.
- several large peppers (8-9 pieces)
- minced meat without fat (750 gr)
- natural yoghurt 0% fat (125 gr)
- one large egg
- salt, pepper
- flavoured fresh herbs: mint, basil, thyme, parsley, dill
- green onions
- 2 tablespoons of caraway (optional)
- for the sauce: olive oil and tomatos sauce
The secret for this recipe is borrowed from the Turkish cuisine: you mix the yoghurt with the minced meat so that it doesn't shrink when boiled and thus the entire mix remains soft and fluffy.
Wash the peppers. Cut the top and take out the seeds.
Mix the meat with the chopped onion, salt, pepper and fine-cut herbs. Mix well. In th end, add caraway and hot pepper (if you wish to have a spicier dish).
Anoint the tray with a little quantity of olive oil. Place the filled peppers inside the tray. Prepare the tomatoes sauce and pour it in the tray. If you have celery, cut it and place it inside the tray. Put the tray inside the oven at 180 degrees for about 1 hour until the peppers are turning brown.
